What are seat types in SafetyCulture?

Learn the difference between the seat types in SafetyCulture and role-based models in EdApp.

What are seat types in SafetyCulture?

To help organizations optimize their spending while ensuring each team member can perform their responsibilities and tasks, we offer three seat types at varying price points:

  • Full seats

  • Lite seats

  • Guest seats (free)

We use combinations of seat type and permission set to determine access.

What’s the difference between seat types in SafetyCulture and EdApp?

SafetyCulture uses a different permissions model than EdApp. During your migration, we’ll automatically map your existing EdApp roles to the appropriate permissions in SafetyCulture. You’ll receive the following recommended setup, but you can always customize permissions post-migration using the CSV upload/download tool.

Selecting seat types is only applicable to organizations on Premium Plan or Enterprise Plan. If your organization is on the Free Plan, then all users are in full seats by default.
