Import SCORM packages as lesson slides
Learn how to import SCORM packages as lesson slides via the web app.
What are SCORM packages?
In e-learning or training, SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) is a popular standard for creating and delivering digital learning content. It specifies how e-learning content should be structured and packaged, allowing for compatibility with learning management systems (LMS) or learning content management systems (LCMS).
We understand that some organizations may already have existing LMS that facilitate training, so to make it easier for you to reuse existing content, you can easily import SCORM packages as lesson slides in your SafetyCulture courses.
Import a SCORM package as a lesson slide
Select Training from the menu on the left-hand side.
If you're on the "Learn" page, click Content at the top of the page and select Courses.
Hover your cursor over the course and click View or Edit.
If you're editing an existing course and it's published, click Edit on the upper-right of the page.
Create a new standard lesson or click an existing one.
In the left-hand side panel, click New slide.
In the pop-up window, select Advanced under "MORE" and click SCORM.
In the right-hand side panel, upload your SCORM package, then configure the slide accordingly.
Please note that the training course experience on the mobile app may be suboptimal if a SCORM content wasn't built to support mobile screens.
If your course is currently a draft, remember to publish it to make your changes available to your team.
Limitations
Scoring within SCORM is not recorded as part of course scoring.
Performance dashboard by course slides is not available to SCORM lesson slides.
If you want to export a SafetyCulture lesson as a SCORM-compliant package, please contact our customer support team for assistance.
