Set up template scoring

Learn how to set up scoring for your inspection templates via the web app and the mobile app.

What is scoring?

Scoring is a powerful tool to give users insights into inspection performance over time. You can customize each response's score value and question's weighting depending on their importance. When it's not relevant, you can also remove scoring for response sets and questions or disable scoring throughout the entire template with just a click.

Negative scoring is not supported at this stage. If you need negative scoring in your inspection template, please let us know by providing your feedback.

Take note

  • Changes made to a custom response set's scoring apply to all questions that use the same custom response set.

  • Only the following response types support scoring:

  • Template scoring can be set up in the two following ways:

    • Custom response sets: Score values can be assigned or removed from each response in a custom response set, not including Global Response Sets. Changes apply to all questions that use the custom response set.

    • Questions: Score values can be assigned or removed from a specific question by adjusting its max score value. Changes made only applies to the specific question.

  • Disabling scoring and re-enabling scoring will reset score values to 0.

  • The score value of responses within Global Response Sets can't be adjusted from their default value of 1.

  • You can display or hide scoring in your inspection reports by customizing your report layouts.

Published changes made to templates only apply to new inspections moving forward.
