Add or link files to Heads Ups

Learn how to add or link files from Documents to Heads Up via the web app and mobile app to make information easier to access.

Why add files to Heads Ups?

Adding or linking files helps provide useful context that makes your Heads Ups clearer and more actionable. This allows you to include references or visuals that make your message easier to understand. With everything in one place, your team can easily access, follow, and act on important updates.

What’s the difference between adding and linking files?

Add files to upload new and independent attachments specific to a Heads Up, or link files when you want to reference existing files from Documents such as manuals, records, or certificates to make them easily accessible whenever needed. You can quickly view your files without leaving the Heads Up, so everything stays in one place. This helps cut down on searching through folders and makes sure everyone has what they need, when they need it.

By choosing whether to add or link, you can share information in the way that best fits your workflow while keeping your team informed, consistent, and aligned.

Add or link files to Heads Ups via the web app.

Add files to a Heads Up

  1. Log in to the web app.

  2. Select Heads Up iconNews in the sidebar or select it in Assets gallery view iconPlus.

  3. Click Icône plusCréer une News on the upper-right of the page or edit a Heads Up.

  4. Drag your files to the "Add Media" section on the left-hand side of the page or click parcourir to select files.

  5. In the pop-up window, click Upload.

  6. Drag your files or click Parcourir to select files.

  1. Open the mobile app.

  2. Tap Accueil at the bottom of your screen.

  3. Tap Icône plus at the lower-right of your screen and select Heads Up iconCréer une News.

  4. Tap PlusAjouter un fichier multimédia and select the following:

    • To take a photo: Tap Prendre une photo and proceed accordingly. Tap Suivant at the upper-right of your screen and tap Terminé.

    • To upload an image: Tap Photothèque, select your images, and tap Ajouter at the upper-right of your screen.

    • To take a video: Tap Prendre une vidéo and proceed accordingly. Tap Importer la vidéo.

    • To upload a video: Tap Vidéothèque and select your video.

    • To attach a file: Tap Ajouter des fichiers, select your documents, and tap Ouvrir at the upper-right of your screen.

Link files to a Heads Up

  1. Log in to the web app.

  2. Select Heads Up iconNews in the sidebar or select it in Assets gallery view iconPlus.

  3. Click Icône plusCréer une News on the upper-right of the page or edit a Heads Up.

  4. On the left-hand side of the page under "Add Media", click parcourir to select files.

  5. In the pop-up window, select the files you want to link.

  6. Click Ajouter.

Linking files from Documents is only supported on the web app.

Cliquez sur Et ensuite ? et sélectionnez jusqu'à deux fonctionnalités que vous souhaitez lier avec Documents. Vos commentaires contribuent à façonner l'avenir de Documents.

FAQ

The Heads Up will remain linked to the version that was created at the time. You will need to create a new Heads Up if you want to link the new version.

Anyone assigned to the Heads Up can see the file even if they do not have “View” file access.
