Learn about asset readings and how you can use them to track asset usage in your organization.

What are asset readings?

We understand that it's important to have visibility over your assets to forecast when maintenance or replacement is required to manage your operational costs accordingly. With asset readings, you can determine the condition, performance, and usage of all the assets in your organization. You can collect your latest asset readings either by capturing them via inspections manually or setting up an integration with an asset management system to do so automatically.

View readings on the asset profile via the web app.

Exploring asset readings

Capture readings via inspections

You can add asset readings to your templates to manually track odometer and runtime data easily, especially in areas where technology may be less reliable. Although readings are predefined for templates, you can rename them accordingly.

Overseeing multiple asset templates? Quickly manage all templates with asset questions, including asset types and readings from the Assets settings page.

Capture readings via telematics

Integrating to asset management systems may also be an option if you want to view odometer, engine hours, temperature, and GPS location telematic readings. Direct integrations are available for Samsara, Geotab, Caterpillar (VisionLink), and AT&T Fleet Management.

View asset usage

Whether you rely on inspections or telematics, SafetyCulture ensures you have flexibility in overseeing how assets are being used in your organization. Simply go to asset profile and view your latest and historical asset readings.

Download asset readings

Efficiently access and analyze detailed asset data outside of SafetyCulture by downloading your asset usage. This is particularly useful for tracking asset usage metrics, which you can integrate with other external tools for additional insights.
