Manage mobile app security for your organization
Learn how to manage mobile app PIN authentication, set PIN length, and choose an automatic lock time via the web app to protect company data on mobile devices. How does a mobile PIN keep your data safe?
Requiring PIN authentication on the mobile app adds an extra layer of account security for your users. Turn on a PIN requirement from the web app to protect inspections, photos, and reports on shared or lost mobile devices across your organization.
Users are prompted to create a PIN to unlock the mobile app after a period of inactivity. You can choose the PIN length and lock period to match your policy. This ensures stronger protection across your team's devices without needing to manage PIN setup manually for each user.
What can I see when PIN is required?
Turning on the PIN setting will prompt all users in the organization to create a PIN the next time they open the app, and the PIN and Lock settings will be moved to the Organization-managed section in Settings. Biometric options, such as Face ID or fingerprint, will remain available where supported. To help keep your account secure, here's what happens when the PIN setting is turned on:
Three incorrect PIN attempts will automatically log you out of the app.
Logging out of the app deletes the saved PIN.
If you belong to multiple organizations, you may be prompted to set up a PIN when switching to an organization with this setting turned on.
If PIN setup is interrupted, you will need to log in again to complete the process.
The prompt may not appear immediately when this setting is turned on for users on mobile app versions 26.10 and above, if the app is already open, but is guaranteed when they log in, switch between organizations, or reopen the app after a force close.
