Get started with Analytics

Discover how to get your organization started with the Analytics feature in SafetyCulture for deeper insights and data-driven decisions.

What is Analytics?

The Analytics feature allows you to view and analyze the data your team captures in SafetyCulture. You can create customizable dashboards, enabling you to make sense of your data to identify improvement opportunities and isolate trends.

With Analytics, you can create customized dashboards to effectively share relevant data across your organization. Within each dashboard, you can tailor the charts shown to help your team cut through the noise and quickly gain an understanding of key data sets.

Create dashboards

Dashboards are spaces where you can group charts together to view data or track performance over time. Start by creating a new dashboard from scratch or start with a template. You can also choose a dashboard type that's relevant to the data you want to view and the team members you want to share it with.

Depending on the type of dashboard you want to create, you'll need the corresponding permission:

Configure charts

Once you have a dashboard created, you can start adding and configuring chartsto visualize your data. Each chart requires metrics and attributes so you can measure data, such as the number of inspections, by factors such as date conducted or owner.

You can also further drill down on the data by applying filters to view what's relevant to you and your team.

Customize charts and dashboards

Customizing your charts and dashboards helps you get the most out of your data. Choose from a wide range of chart types, configure KPIs, and customize data visibility so you can view information the way it matters. Then, add chart titles to clearly distinguish each chart within your dashboard.

Share dashboards

Once your dashboard is all set up, share it with your team to provide greater visibility over your organization’s data. Share dashboards with groups or your whole organization to keep everyone aligned and empower faster, data-driven decisions.

Check your access

Before you start viewing dashboards, ensure that you have the correct permissions. Your permissions control which dashboards you can view and edit.

If you have "Analytics: View" permission, you can view a dashboard as long as a group you belong to has been provided "View" access. If you have "Analytics: Manage" permission, you can view and edit all dashboards in your organization, including those created by other users.

View and export data

Take reporting to the next level by downloading charts as images or CSV files for a quick overview, or bulk export different data types such as inspections, actions, issues, and schedules for deeper analysis. Whether you're reporting on team performance or tracking trends across sites, it's easy to share and work with your data outside the platform.

The data you can view and export in chart drill-downs is the same as what you have access to in SafetyCulture. Learn how to give yourself access to the relevant data or assign yourself "Override permissions: View all data" permission for visibility across all data in your organization.
