Create number response questions

Learn how to add and format number response questions via the web app and the mobile app.

Why use number response questions?

Number response questions are great for capturing precise and quantifiable data while conducting an inspection. You can even specify the unit of measurement you want to use, such as distance, volume, time, weight, or electricity. Standardizing units in your number response questions eliminates guesswork and misinterpretation and ensures everyone in your team records every piece of critical information in the same way.

Units are optional and not applicable for temperature and calculation response questions. To add units to your templates via the mobile app, we recommend using version 24.20 or above. However, units are not available in inspection reports when your mobile device is offline.

Published changes made to templates only apply to new inspections moving forward.

Frequently asked questions

Temperature units in number response questions are ideal for manually capturing temperature data while conducting inspections. If you prefer Bluetooth thermometers to capture the temperature or would like to set up a temperature threshold so any response that falls outside of your specified range is highlighted in inspections and reports, it's best to use temperature response questions instead.
