Edit questions in templates
Learn how to edit questions in your templates via the web app and the mobile app.
Why edit questions?
It's natural for all of us to make a mistake, which can happen when we enter question labels in the Template Editor. If this happens, you don't need to delete the entire question and re-add it again. Instead, you can edit the existing question label to continue building the best template for your organization.
What you'll need
Published changes made to templates only apply to new inspections moving forward.
You can build your templates using other response types, such as text answer, number, and media.
Edit a question
Select Templates from the menu on the left-hand side.
Click the template and select Edit template in the side panel.
Select the question you want to edit.
Double click the question's text field to begin editing the question label.
Press enter or return on your keyboard.
Click Publish on the upper-right of the page to publish the template. If you're not ready to publish the template, you can go back to the templates list and come back when you're ready.
Open the mobile app.
Tap on Inspections at the bottom of your screen.
Select the Templates tab at the top of your screen.
Tap the template and select Edit template from the pop-up options.
Double-tap the question to begin editing the question label. This should reveal the keyboard.
Tap enter or return on your keyboard.
Tap Publish on the upper-right of your screen to publish the template. If you're not ready to publish the template, you can go back to the templates list and come back when you're ready.
Frequently asked questions
You might not have the required access level to the template. You can reach out to your colleague and request the "Conduct, edit" or higher access level. If you have the "Admin" permission, you can also gain full access to all templates and inspections by assigning yourself the "data management" permission.
