Add templates to actions
Learn how to add templates to actions via the web app and the mobile app.
This feature is currently in Early Access. If you're interested, please contact our customer support team or your customer success manager to check if your organization is eligible.
Why add templates to actions?
Creating an action allows you to identify and track tasks as a team. Typically, an inspection is needed to conduct a more detailed observation before completing a task. By adding templates to action types, your team can have readily available templates to streamline task completion and ensure that details are captured accurately.
If you have the "Actions: Settings" permission, you can manage linked templates for action types. Once turned on, users creating an action with that action type can add a template and start an inspection directly from the action.
What you'll need
You can add up to 25 templates to an action, one at a time.

Frequently asked questions
No, if you don't have access to a specific template, it won’t show up as an option when creating or updating an action.
They will not be able to view the template or any inspections started from the action. Only users with access to the relevant templates or inspections can see and interact with them. However, if you have the "Conduct, edit" template access level at a minimum, you can give template and inspection access to groups and users.
If an added template is archived or deleted, action assignees will no longer be able to start an inspection from that action. To continue using the action, you'll need to remove the archived or deleted template and add a new template.
