Manage custom description fields
Learn how to manage custom description fields in investigations via the web app.What are investigation description fields?
Description fields in investigations allow you to structure how incident details are captured. You can customize these fields to guide your team on what to include during a workplace incident investigation, such as the incident description, timeline of events, people involved, and potential impact. This helps ensure consistent reporting and standardizes the investigation process across your team.
If you're on SafetyCulture Kostenloser Tarif, your investigations include 9 default description fields, which can’t be edited. To edit your description fields, you need to be on SafetyCulture Premium-Tarif oder Enterprise-Tarif.
You can create up to 25 custom description fields to use in your investigations.
Create a custom description field
Select
Investigations from the menu on the left-hand side.
Select Einstellungen at the top of the page.
In the "Investigation fields" section, click
Bearbeiten.
Click
Feld hinzufügen at the bottom of the page. Enter a title and default description accordingly.
Click Speichern.
Any custom description fields you’ve set up will automatically appear when you create a new investigation.
Edit a custom description field
Select
Investigations from the menu on the left-hand side.
Select Einstellungen at the top of the page.
In the "Investigation fields" section, click
Bearbeiten.
Edit the title and default description accordingly.
Click Speichern.
Reorder a custom description field
Select
Investigations from the menu on the left-hand side.
Select Einstellungen at the top of the page.
In the "Investigation fields" section, click
Bearbeiten.
Click
on the right-hand side of the field, then select
Move down or
Move down. Alternatively, click and hold
on the left-hand side of the field to reorder fields as needed.
Click Speichern.
Delete a custom description field
Select
Investigations from the menu on the left-hand side.
Select Einstellungen at the top of the page.
In the "Investigation fields" section, click
Bearbeiten.
Click
on the right-hand side of the field and select
Löschen.
Click Speichern.
