Switch to the new Documents experience

Learn how to switch to the new Documents experience via the web app.

The legacy Documents experience will no longer be available on July 31. While your organization is moving to new Documents, only administrators will be able to switch between the legacy and new Documents experiences.

Why are we introducing the new Documents experience?

The new Documents experience gives administrators organization-wide visibility and control over all files. Admins can now manage any file in the organization without needing each one to be shared with them individually. This level of admin oversight wasn’t possible in legacy Documents.

While admins now have organization-wide control, users with the right access can still manage their own files as they do with legacy Documents. This means teams can continue working with their files as usual, while admins have visibility across everything in the organization.

To maintain the privacy of files owned by individual users in your team, we won’t automatically move your organization to the new experience. Instead, we’re asking teams to manually move any business-critical files they want to manage centrally before we switch entire organizations to the new experience.

Switch to the new Documents experience

  1. Log in to the web app.

  2. Select File iconDocumentos from the menu on the left-hand side.

  3. Select a folder to download all files inside it.

  4. Click Download iconDownload Folder on the upper-right corner of the page. Download files from legacy Documents via the web app.

  1. Click Ampliar más iconoAñadir on the upper-right of the page.

  2. Select File iconAdd file(s).

  3. Upload your downloaded files accordingly. Alternatively, you can drag and drop up to 100 files in one go.

    • If you drag and drop a folder into the new Documents experience, the folder will be created along with its contents.

Once everyone in your organization has downloaded their files from the legacy Documents experience, contact our customer support team or your customer success manager to help switch your organization to the new experience.

For easier comparison, open the legacy experience in one browser and the new experience in another, or use an incognito window. This way, you can view both at the same time on different screens.

Frequently asked questions

If your organization hasn’t been fully switched over yet, you can toggle back to the legacy experience at any time. Once your organization is fully switched over, the legacy view will no longer be available.

For security reasons, we’re not migrating files automatically. Each user may have personal files stored in My files, and consolidating individual files into shared folders could risk data privacy.

After your organization is switched, legacy Documents will no longer be visible to users. However, files stored in the legacy version are not deleted. If anything was missed during the transition, contact our customer support team or your customer success manager to help you recover your old files.

To add files to the new experience, you need to have the new Permiso de "Documentos: Administración" or "Edit" document access level to a folder.
