Archive and unarchive sensors, and remove gateways

Learn how to archive and unarchive sensors, and remove gateways on the web app and the mobile app.

Archive a sensor

  1. Log in to the web app.

  2. Select Sensors from the menu on the left-hand side.

  3. Click the sensor you want to archive.

  4. Click image on the upper-right of the sensor.

  5. Select Folder open iconArchive sensor.

  6. In the pop-up window, click Archive. You can view the archived sensor in Archive from the tab at the top of the page.

  1. Open the mobile app.

  2. Tap Assets gallery view iconMore at the lower-right corner of your screen.

  3. Select Sensors from the list of options.

  4. Tap Expand more iconShow on the right-hand side of the location that contains the sensor you want to archive.

  5. Tap the sensor.

  6. Tap image at the upper-right corner of the screen.

  7. Select Archive.

  8. In the pop-up window, click Archive. You can view the archived sensor in Archive from the tab at the top of the page.

You can replace your sensor device and still keep your data. Simply archive the old sensor, and then when you unarchive it, swap the old ID code with the new one.

Unarchive a sensor

  1. Log in to the web app.

  2. Select Sensors from the menu on the left-hand side.

  3. Select Archive from the tab at the top of the page.

  4. Click the sensor you want to archive.

  5. Tap image at the upper-right corner of the screen, and select Unarchive.

  6. Select All brands for sensors purchased from SafetyCulture. For Monnit sensors, you can refer to the Monnit sensor installation guide.

  7. Fill in the following fields:

    • ID code: Enter your sensor's ID code. This is an alphanumeric code that begins with "DevEUI".

    • Sensor name: Name the sensor. We recommend that you name the sensor after the asset or area it will be monitoring.

    • Location name: Create or select a location.

    • Sensor time zone: Select the time zone of the sensor's location.

    • What are you monitoring?: Select the most appropriate category for the type of asset the sensor will be monitoring.

  8. Tap Add sensor.

  9. Turn on your sensor.

  10. Tap Next.

  2. Tap Assets gallery view iconMore at the lower-right corner of your screen.

  3. Select Sensors from the list of options.

  4. Select Archive from the tab at the top of your screen.

  5. Tap the sensor you want to archive.

  6. Tap image at the upper-right corner of the screen, and select Unarchive.

  7. Select All brands for sensors purchased from SafetyCulture. For Monnit sensors, you can refer to the Monnit sensor installation guide.

  8. Fill in the following fields:

    • ID code: Enter your sensor's ID code. This is an alphanumeric code that begins with "DevEUI".

  9. Tap Add sensor.

  10. Turn on your sensor.

  11. Tap Next.

Once you remove a gateway, it will no longer be associated with your organization.

Remove a gateway

  1. Log in to the web app.

  2. Select Sensors from the menu on the left-hand side.

  3. Click the gateway.

  4. Click image on the upper-right of the page.

  5. Select Delete iconRemove gateway.

  6. In the pop-up window, click Continue.

  1. Open the mobile app.

  2. Tap Assets gallery view iconMore at the lower-right corner of your screen.

  3. Select Sensors from the list of options.

  4. Tap the gateway.

  5. Tap image at the upper-right corner of your screen.

  6. Select Delete iconRemove gateway.

  7. In the pop-up window, tap Continue.
