Assign or unassign issues

Learn how to assign or unassign issues via the web app and the mobile app to ensure clear ownership and strengthen accountability across your team.

You can only assign or unassign issues to an individual user.

Assign an issue

  1. Log in to the web app.

  2. Select Issues iconIssues in the sidebar or select it in Assets gallery view iconMore.

  3. Report an issue or select an existing issue.

  4. In the 'Details' section, click User (clear) iconAdd assignee or the existing assignee.

  5. In the dropdown menu, select the user you want to assign.

  1. Open the mobile app.

  2. Tap Assets gallery view iconMore at the lower-right corner of your screen.

  3. Select Issues iconIssues from the list of options.

  4. Report an issue or select an existing issue.

  5. In the Details tab, tap User (clear) iconAdd assignee or the existing assignee. The Issue profile screen showing the option to add an assignee.

  6. In the pop-up menu, select the user you want to assign.

  7. Tap Done.

You won’t receive a notification when you assign an issue to yourself.

Unassign an issue

  1. Log in to the web app.

  2. Select Issues iconIssues in the sidebar or select it in Assets gallery view iconMore.

  3. Report an issue or select an existing issue.

  4. In the 'Details' section, click the existing assignee.

  5. In the dropdown menu, click Clear. The issue profile page showing the option to select another assignee.

  1. Open the mobile app.

  2. Tap Assets gallery view iconMore at the lower-right corner of your screen.

  3. Select Issues iconIssues from the list of options.

  4. Report an issue or select an existing issue.

  5. In the Details tab, tap the existing assignee.

  6. In the pop-up menu, you can either unassign a user individually in the "SELECTED" section or tap CLEAR to unassign them. The 'Assignee' menu visible showing the option to unassign users from an issue.

  7. Tap Done.

Bulk edit issue assignees

  1. Log in to the web app.

  2. Select Issues iconIssues in the sidebar or select it in Assets gallery view iconMore.

  3. Select the issues you want to delete by checking the boxes on the left-hand side of each issue.

  4. Click User iconEdit Assignee at the bottom of the page. The issues page showing the option to edit assignees in bulk.

  5. In the pop-up window, select the user you want to assign and click Edit assignee.
