Create onboarding workflows
Learn how to create a worker onboarding workflow via the web app. This feature is currently in Early Access. If you're interested, please contact your customer success manager to check if your organization is eligible.
What are onboarding workflows?
Onboarding allows you to combine required training courses and credential qualifications into a single, structured workflow. It guides workers through everything they need to complete before starting their roles. This gives you more confidence that your workers have the right skills, knowledge, and qualifications to execute their job safely and meet compliance standards.
You can add draft courses to your onboarding worklow. When the onboarding worklow is published, any draft courses included will be published automatically.
Create an onboarding workflow
Select
Training from the menu on the left-hand side.
Click Onboard at the top of the page.
Click
Create on the upper-right of the page.
In the "Edit" page, click
beside "Untitled Onboarding" to rename your onboarding.
In the side panel, click and hold
to start adding your onboarding steps:
Training: Assign training courses to your onboarding. You can add both published and draft courses.
Credentials: Add existing credential types to request the required credentials from workers.
Click and hold
on the left-hand side of the course or credential to drag and drop it into your desired order. You can also remove an onboarding step by hovering over a step and click
.
Click
Next: Publish on the upper-right corner of the page.
In the "Publish" page, click
and from the dropdown menu, select the groups or sites you want to assign.
Once you're ready, click
Publish now.
You can add up to 30 steps to your onboarding worklow.
If a published course is part of an onboarding workflow, make sure to remove the course from the onboarding steps before deleting or reverting it to draft. Otherwise, it will be automatically removed from the workflow, which can disrupt workers in progress and lead to an incomplete onboarding experience.
