Frequently asked questions
The Actions feature empowers everyone to flag tasks by assigning actions from their devices. They can be done on the go or as an inspection is being carried out. Inspectors can provide all relevant context and evidence to ensure the rest of the team understands what needs to be fixed!
Each action has an audit trail, which logs comments, photos, and field updates in real-time. All parties involved in the action can collaborate in one space to resolve the problem. The feature is available on both the web app and the mobile app.
The Actions feature is available on all our supported platforms! Learn how to get started by creating actions.
Changes made to actions on the web app saves as you go! Whereas changes made to actions on the mobile app sync when the changes are finalized. If you see changes on the mobile app not syncing, you can sync them by making sure your mobile device has a stable internet connection, and then go to the action list and swipe down on the screen.
Yes, you can! We understand that you may have contractors or subcontractors who are part of your work but don't use SafetyCulture, so we made it possible to assign actions to external people by email.
If the external personnel don't need to interact with actions, you can also share actions via links to give them a read-only view.
The steps differ between the web app and the mobile app. You can check out our guide on how to filter and sort actions.
Yes, you can! You can create what we call standalone actions on both the web app and the mobile app. At this stage, to encourage collaboration, standalone actions are visible to all users in your organization.
You can assign the "data management" permission to give users the ability to view, edit, and delete any action in your organization. For all other users, access to actions depends on a few things.
If an action is created in an inspection, then it'll only be visible to the following users:
Users who have access to the inspection
The action assignee
The inspection owner
If an action is created outside of an inspection (standalone action), then access will be based on the settings in your organization:
All users in your organization
Members of the selected site
Collaborators (the creator and assignees)
It may be that the action hasn't been synced from your mobile app yet. Please make sure your mobile device has a stable internet connection, go to the SafetyCulture mobile app's action list, and swipe down on the screen to sync your actions.
They stay on your list! We want you to be able to view and monitor the history of your actions, including those marked as complete. If an action hasn't been completed, it can be easily reactivated and reassigned. If you don't want to see all the completed actions on your mobile app, you can adjust your filters to exclude the "Complete" status.
Yes, you can! This can be performed via the web app and the mobile app, and to ensure that actions are not inadvertently deleted by anyone in the team, we have restricted this ability to users with "admin", "data management" permission, or actions that you've created. Learn how to delete actions.
Yes, you can! Learn how to export your actions to CSV on the web app.
Yes, you can! You can bulk update the status and assignees of actions. Learn how to bulk update actions on the web app.
