Manage offline files and folders
Learn how to manage offline files and folders in Documents via the mobile app.How does offline availability for Documents work?
Offline availability lets you access your files and folders even without an internet connection, perfect for times when you're on the move or in areas with limited connectivity. You can also bookmark important files and folders to find them more easily later. Any bookmarks you add will sync automatically once you're back online. To ensure a file or folder is available offline, turn on offline availability while you're still connected to the internet so you can open essential files and folders anytime, anywhere.
What you'll need
Manage offline availability for a file or folder
Open the mobile app.
Tap
More and select
Documents.
Tap
at the right-hand side of the file or folder.
Turn "Available offline" on or off.
When you make a folder available offline, all files and subfolders within it will also be available offline.
Frequently asked questions
If a file or folder is updated while the device is offline, those changes won’t appear right away. The updates will become available once the device reconnects to the internet.
If "Available offline" is turned off before the sync finishes, the syncing stops immediately. The folder and its contents won’t appear in the Offline tab or be accessible offline unless the sync had already completed.
No. If a folder is marked for offline availability, all files and subfolders inside it are included. You can’t remove individual items from offline availability unless you turn off "Available offline" for the entire folder.
